Management Team

Jerome M. Behar, Managing Director

Jerry Behar is Financial Intelligence's founder. He has over 25 years of senior financial management experience in both public and early stage companies. He has been the CFO of Engineering Animation Inc. (NASDAQ:EAII), and several other companies. Jerry also co-founded International Risk Control Inc., which developed and marketed risk management decision support software systems and WebFilings, providers of a cloud-based solution which automates and improves the process of drafting, reviewing, XBRL tagging and filing reports with the SEC. Jerry has completed over $100 million in public and venture capital financings. A certified public accountant (inactive), he earned a BA from Michigan State University and an MBA from Stanford University. Jerry served on the board of directors and audit committee of Portal Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRTL), which was sold to Oracle Corp. in 2006.

Arnold Freilich, Managing Director

Arnie Freilich is the Managing Director of Financial Intelligence’s Equity Compensation practice. He is a Certified Equity Professional (CEP) and he directed the accounting, data analysis, data modeling, migration and reconciliation efforts in many major option restatement projects. He is an expert in equity compensation financial and tax reporting. He has over 30 years of senior finance, accounting and management experience in both public and private companies. More than half of that time was spent as a management consultant focused on operational and functional process reengineering to reduce costs and improve profitability. Arnie also served as Intel’s M&A Equity Compensation Program Manager, where he implemented and reengineered processes and systems for Intel’s equity benefit programs, and as an HR Global Reengineering Project Manager. He is also certified in Project Management and Six-Sigma reengineering and has been enrolled to practice before the IRS.

Joseph Howell , Managing Director

Joseph Howell has over 25 years of experience in senior financial management and SEC reporting. He is also a founder and Managing Director of WebFilings LLC. He served as Chief Accounting Officer and CFO for Borland Software (NASDAQ: BORL) and as CFO of Merix Corporation (NASDAQ: MERX). He also served as CFO of EMusic.com (NASDAQ: EMUS), which was acquired by Universal Music Group. Joe developed substantial experience in financing and managing early-stage technology companies, serving as CFO for Eid Passport and for Webridge, Inc., which was acquired by Click Commerce. He led the $92 million IPO and $33 million secondary offering at EMusic.com, as well as a number of private placements and over two dozen significant M&A transactions. A CPA, he earned a BA from the University of Michigan and an MS in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University.

Michael Buttram, Director

Michael Buttram has more than 15 years of financial accounting and equity compensation reporting experience for publicly held companies. For more than 12 years, he has directed SEC reporting processes, including hands-on performance and management of the equity compensation accounting, tax and reporting functions. He has significant experience interpreting and applying the guidance provided by FAS 123R and the related standards. Most recently, he served as a financial reporting and compliance consultant within the Stock Plan Services Group of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, providing accounting, tax, and financial reporting guidance and support to client companies in the equity compensation area. A CPA, he earned a BS from Auburn University.

Elizabeth Harder, J.D., Director

Elizabeth Harder has more than 10 years of experience with stock option valuation, financial reporting and compliance for equity compensation plans, as well as with the development of compliance software. As a former executive with Equity Methods, she led the equity consulting team and oversaw the firm's software research and development endeavors for both internal initiatives and strategic partner products. Elizabeth has significant experience working directly with financial professionals to resolve the complex accounting and reporting issues that pertain to SFAS 123 and 123R and related regulations. She holds a BA and a JD from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.

Dorica Fitzwater, Manager

Dorica Fitzwater has been in Equity Compensation and Stock Administration for over 16 years and has been a Certified Equity Professional (CEP) since 2000. Dorica has worked with private and public companies ranging from small, medium to Fortune 100 companies. During the last three years, Dorica has worked with several high profile restatements. Her unique experiences from these restatement engagements along with her extensive background and expertise in stock administration allow her to apply these lessons into the day-to-day stock administration functions and internal controls processes necessary to ultimately provide accurate and reliable data for financial reporting.

Pauline Chiu

Pauline Chiu has more than 15 years of financial and accounting experience in public and early-stage companies. As a former consultant with Horn Murdock Cole Silicon Valley, Pauline provided Controller, financial planning and analysis, and merger and acquisition services to clients in the software, semi-conductor, medical device, and network service provider industries. She also led project management, documentation and testing of internal controls for financial reporting and disclosure at several companies seeking to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. A certified public accountant, Pauline earned her BA from Claremont McKenna College in California and an MBA from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

Craig Weber

Craig Weber brings more than 20 years of finance experience, including senior management roles at several public and early-stage biotechnology companies. Most recently, he worked with Protiviti, where he helped companies document and test internal controls to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Craig previously served as Director of Finance at Calyx Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for financial and commercial planning. A certified public accountant, he previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Craig earned a BS from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from San Francisco State University.
